Beginning in March 2001 when PenguinsChronicles.com founder Casey Samuelson photo-matched his first Pittsburgh Penguins game worn jersey - a 1990-91 Larry Murphy road (black) jersey - his passion for documenting the teams history through images is unmatched. PenguinsChronicles.com has invested significant financial resources in purchasing the entire original negative and slide collection of former Pittsburgh Penguins team photographer Paul Salva, official Penguins Report photographer Jim Cunningham, and former Topps/O-Pee-Chee hockey card photographer Michael Ponzini as well as amassing the most astonishing Penguins publication collection in the world.

  • The Paul Salva Collection - containing some of the most iconic images from a very turbulent time in Penguin history, Paul Salva served as the official team photographer from the mid-1970's through the early-to-mid 1980's. His historical archive documents on ice action including close-ups of players, coaches, fans and visiting teams as well as important off-ice imagery including team events, executive profiles, and candid player images.

  • The Jim Cunningham Collection - with an incredible year-by-year, player-by-player and coach-by-coach organized collection, Jim Cunningham chronicled the Pittsburgh Penguins for five seasons from 1991-92 through 1995-96 for the Penguins Report magazine. His amazing photography captured tens of thousands of images including Penguins players, coaches, fans, and executives in addition to organized images of opponents visiting the Civic Arena.

  • The Michael Ponzini Collection - with hundreds of images spanning more than three decades, Michael Ponzini captured amazing images of the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Civic Arena and on the road taken in Chicago, New York, Boston, and New Jersey for the creation of Topps and O-Pee-Chee hockey cards. Many of the images that weren't selected by the card manufacturer were purchased by PenguinsChronicles.com and are available for photo-matching purposes.
