The 2021 NHL Entry Draft was held on Friday, July 23, 2021 (1st round) and Saturday, July 24, 2021 (2nd to 7th rounds) via video conference call at the NHL Network studios in Secaucus, New Jersey. The Buffalo Sabres won the draft lottery with the Seattle Kraken and Anaheim Ducks winning the second and third picks, respectively. The Sabres selected Owen Power from the University of Michigan of the NCAA with the first overall pick.
