The Penguins wore Reebok Edge (Air-Knit) jerseys - a style and cut that was introduced at the beginning of the 2007-08 NHL season - for the third consecutive season. The Penguins Alternate jerseys - the light blue style which was introduced at the 2008 Winter Classic - were worn for the third consecutive season.
The Reebok vector logo was featured on the back neckline with a white vector logo embroidered with black on the Home (black) jerseys, a black vector logo embroidered with white on the Road (white) jerseys, and a navy blue vector logo embroidered with white on the light blue Alternate jerseys. The inside neckline of each jersey features a size tag with a Canadian flag logo above the "Made in Canada" in three languages (English, French and Spanish) then the 7187 manufacturer's model number indicating the 2.0 Edge model with an "A" or "H" after the model number. Inside the left side seam is a manufacturer's washing instructions tag.
Jerseys were lettered and numbered by Cutting Edge Sports of Woburn, Massachusetts. Each jersey featured a set tag sewn inside the rear hem.
J&J Distributing of Ellwood City, PA purchased all sets of game worn regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs sets directly from the Pittsburgh Penguins and marketed the jerseys to the hobby.

The set continued into the regular season and was worn until January 16, 2010 at Vancouver. The Home (black) jerseys were worn in a total of 19 games while the Road (white) jerseys were worn in a total of 29 games. Each individual jersey within the set was worn as allocated by the Pittsburgh Penguins and each jersey should be researched individually to determine exactly when each jersey was worn. The Penguins wore their Alternate jerseys a total of 12 times in 2009-10 beginning with the game on October 17, 2009 vs. Tampa Bay. The set continued throughout the the regular season including being worn in two road games - October 30, 2009 at Columbus and November 27, 2009 at NY Islanders - and was last worn on March 6, 2010 vs. Dallas. Each individual jersey within the set was worn as allocated by the Pittsburgh Penguins and each jersey should be researched individually to determine exactly when each jersey was worn. The set of Alternate jerseys were sold by the Pittsburgh Penguins to J&J Distributing.

The Home (black) jerseys were worn in a total of 13 games while the Road (white) jerseys were worn in a total of 13 games. On March 17, 2010 in a 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center, the Penguins wore a special set of Road (white) jerseys to benefit The Mario Lemieux Foundation. A special set tag was sewn inside the back hem of each jersey.

On April 8, 2010, the Penguins wore a special set of jerseys in the third period only that were given to fans at the conclusion of the game vs. NY Islanders at CONSOL Energy Center. The Penguins wore their Home (black) jerseys for this game and they were tagged with a special "Shirt Off Your Back" set tag inside the back hem. Chris Kunitz, Eric Godard, and Jay McKee were scratched for the game.

The Penguins began wearing their Stanley Cup Playoffs jerseys with the start of the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs on April 15, 2010 vs. Ottawa. The set continued throughout the first two rounds of the Playoffs until the team was eliminated on May 12, 2010 vs. Montreal. The Home (black) jerseys were worn in a total of seven games while the Road (white) jerseys were worn in a total of six games. Research on each individual jersey should be conducted to determine exactly when each jersey was worn. The Home (black) set of jerseys were sold by the Pittsburgh Penguins to J&J Distributing. The Road (white) set of jerseys were given to the players.
