The Penguins switched to yet another jersey manufacturer for the 1985-86 season - this time Cooper mesh. The tri-color Cooper logo with "Cooper" underneath was embroidered on the back right hemline and straddled the yellow and black hem stripes. Opposite the Cooper logo was "CENTURY SPORTS" - the local Pittsburgh lettering company who heat-pressed the numbers and names onto the jerseys. The inside neckline of each jersey featured the three manufacturer's tags including the Cooper / Made in Canada / model # tag over top of the size tag and to the left a red maple leaf logo'd "APPROVED" tag.
