For the third consecutive season, the Penguins jerseys were produced by Rawlings and gone were the contrasting colored shoulder yokes and lace-up collars. A tri-color v-neck collar and black bottom hem stripe appeared on the Home (white) jerseys and a two-color collar and white bottom hem stripe appeared on the Road (blue) jerseys. The sleeve stripes were changed to chevrons (an inverted v-shaped mark). The twill and embroidered skating penguin crest was much larger and than the 1972-74 crests on the Rawlings jerseys and the golden triangle was proportionate again.
Inside the neckline is the red Rawlings manufacturer's tag which included the size embroidered on the tag along with washing instructions.

The Penguins began wearing Set 1 jerseys with the start of the 1974-75 regular season on October 9, 1974 at Minnesota. The set was worn throughout the the regular season and 1975 Stanley Cup Playoffs and was worn until April 26, 1975 vs. NY Islanders. The Home (white) jerseys were worn in a total of 45 games while the Road (blue) jerseys were worn in a total of 44 games. Each individual jersey within the set was worn as allocated by the Pittsburgh Penguins and each jersey should be researched individually to determine exactly when each jersey was worn.
